# Send Message

Sends a message in a space or user chat.

## Basic Parameters

| Parameter | Description |
| - | - |
| File Identifier | The file identifier of the file. A file identifier represents a file created or referenced earlier in the workflow (for example, from a file action or another step that produces a file). See [Using with Files in Workflows](https://docs.blinkops.com/docs/workflows/building-workflows/files) for more details. |
| File Name | The name of the attachment, including the file extension. |
| Message Content | Plain-text body of the message. The first link to an image, video, or web page generates a preview chip. |
| Send To | Choose the message's destination. |
| Space | The resource name of the space. Format: spaces/{space}. |
| Thread Name | The name of the thread to reply to. If the message is sent, provide another message's thread name to make this message a reply. Format: spaces/{space}/threads/{thread}. |
| User | The email address of the user. |

## Advanced Parameters

| Parameter | Description |
| - | - |
| Delegated User Override | Perform the action on behalf of another user, overriding the delegated user defined in the connection. If not specified, the delegated user is the one provided in the connection. Has no effect when using an OAuth connection. NOTE: the connection details are not edited by this input. |
